Dining chair design inspired by a well known traditional chair commonly used along the mediteranean coast. Compact in size, lightweight, strong and comfortable. Warm and unpretencios character of the chair evokes memory of traditional living in tune with nature. Available as a standard and armrest version. Optional seat upholstery.
This chair was a challenge in a way to not over design it. We wanted the chair to remain modest in appereance and to be appropriate for traditional interiors and urban settings such as street cafes and restaurants. The traditional curvature of the back legs and backrest that is typical for this chairs was a starting point for the design. While looking at possible options for a reduction of connecting rods needed for stability we came up with a seat shape that looks thin but actually is the vital structural part. This opened the way to for armrest version which we love as it has beautiful presence that is not easy to achieve in this typology.
